Aluna de canto na periferia de Campinas faz intercâmbio para a China
Do distrito do Campo Grande para o outro lado do mundo, jovem atendida no Instituto Anelo, entidade que conta com apoio do Instituto CPFL, realizou sonho após se destacar na Copa de Canto chinês.
From the Campo Grande district to the other side of the world, a young woman supported by Instituto Anelo, an organization backed by Instituto CPFL, fulfilled her dream after standing out in the Chinese Singing Cup.
Após se destacar como a melhor brasileira classificada em 14 anos de uma copa internacional de canto em mandarim, Maria Eduarda Santos Nascimento, a Duda, de 20 anos, realizou um sonho que há pouco tempo parecia impossível, ao ser premiada com uma viagem para a China. Duda é aluna do Instituto Anelo, instituição que promove a inclusão pela música em Campinas (SP). No outro lado do mundo, a moradora do Jardim Satélite Íris, no distrito de Campo Grande, periferia da cidade, participou de oficinas com outros jovens talentos de todo o mundo para melhorar suas habilidades e teve a oportunidade de participar de uma apresentação especial.
After standing out as the best-ranked Brazilian in 14 years of an international Mandarin singing competition, Maria Eduarda Santos Nascimento, known as Duda, 20, achieved a dream that recently seemed impossible by being awarded a trip to China. Duda is a student at Instituto Anelo, an institution that promotes inclusion through music in Campinas (SP). On the other side of the world, the resident of Jardim Satélite Íris, in the Campo Grande district, on the outskirts of the city, participated in workshops with other young talents from around the world to improve her skills and had the opportunity to participate in a special performance.

Duda viajou no dia 3 de agosto com destino a um acampamento em Pequim, onde ficou por seis dias, com todos os custos de viagem e hospedagem pagos pelas associações culturais que organizam, anualmente, a Copa Cubo da Água de Canto Chinês, em diversos países. Foi um intercâmbio cultural com finalistas de outras nacionalidades, sendo ela a única brasileira.
Duda traveled on August 3rd to a camp in Beijing, where she stayed for six days, with all travel and accommodation costs covered by the cultural associations that annually organize the Water Cube Cup Chinese Singing Competition in various countries. It was a cultural exchange with finalists from other nationalities, with her being the only Brazilian.
“Um dos meus sonhos era conhecer algum outro país que eu gostava, e isso parecia tão longe e distante, mas de repente a vida deu uma volta de 360º”, comentou Duda. “Minhas expectativas eram grandes até porque sempre gostei muito da China, e ir para lá foi uma grande oportunidade de aprender um pouco mais o mandarim, mesmo que tenha sido por pouco tempo. Acho que também colaborou com meu crescimento e amadurecimento pessoal”, finalizou.
“One of my dreams was to visit another country that I liked, and it seemed so far and distant, but suddenly life took a 360º turn,” commented Duda. “My expectations were high because I have always liked China a lot, and going there was a great opportunity to learn a little more Mandarin, even if it was for a short time. I think it also contributed to my personal growth and maturity,” she concluded.

No final de maio, com apenas dois meses de aulas de canto chinês – iniciados este ano no Anelo – Duda foi campeã brasileira da Copa Cubo da Água, uma conquista inédita para o Instituto e para a periferia de Campinas. Na ocasião, as apresentações ocorreram no bairro da Liberdade, em São Paulo.
At the end of May, with only two months of Chinese singing lessons – started this year at Anelo – Duda became the Brazilian champion of the Water Cube Cup, an unprecedented achievement for the Institute and the outskirts of Campinas. On that occasion, the performances took place in the Liberdade neighborhood in São Paulo.
Na semifinal, Duda gravou a interpretação de uma nova música, enviada a um júri chinês, e entre 43 participantes de todo o mundo se classificou para a final. Na decisão, foi a única não chinesa entre 30 classificados. Novamente a partir de São Paulo, se apresentou em 30 de junho com transmissão direta para a China, interagiu ao vivo com os jurados, auxiliada pela tradução de sua professora, e conquistou a 18ª posição.
In the semifinal, Duda recorded the interpretation of a new song, sent to a Chinese jury, and among 43 participants from around the world, she qualified for the final. In the final, she was the only non-Chinese among 30 qualifiers. Again from São Paulo, she performed on June 30th with a live broadcast to China, interacted live with the judges, assisted by her teacher’s translation, and achieved 18th place.
O desempenho foi premiado com o convite inesperado para conhecer a China. Em Pequim, em um hotel onde ficou com outros jovens, a maioria chineses ou descendentes de chineses de outros países, participou de oficinas, apresentações, vivências, visitas culturais e atividades lúdicas. Uma apresentação do grupo também ocorreu, mas os organizadores não informaram detalhes.
Her performance was rewarded with an unexpected invitation to visit China. In Beijing, at a hotel where she stayed with other young people, mostly Chinese or descendants of Chinese from other countries, she participated in workshops, performances, cultural experiences, and recreational activities. A group performance also took place, but the organizers did not provide details.
