Initiatives in Sports and Culture Broaden Horizons for Children and Adolescents and Strengthen Ties Between Brazil and China
Em 2024, o Instituto CPFL chegou ao Parque Oziel, em Campinas (SP), com uma missão clara: transformar realidades de crianças e adolescentes por meio do esporte e da cultura. Desde então, o que se viu foi muito mais do que a realização de projetos — foi o início de uma jornada coletiva de cuidado, pertencimento e esperança.
In 2024, Instituto CPFL arrived in Parque Oziel, in Campinas (SP), with a clear mission: to transform the lives of children and adolescents through sports and culture. Since then, what has unfolded is much more than the implementation of projects — it has marked the beginning of a collective journey of care, belonging, and hope.
Com o apoio do Grupo CPFL, que faz parte da State Grid, maior empresa de energia do mundo, a atuação do Instituto CPFL na comunidade teve como ponto de partida o projeto Esporte Social, que oferece aulas de futebol a crianças e adolescentes de 6 a 18 anos no contraturno escolar. Desde a sua implementação, o projeto não apenas triplicou o número de beneficiários — saltando de 60 para 180 — como também qualificou a estrutura existente com professores, estagiários e apoio nutricional, com kits lanche, cestas básicas e uniformes.
With the support of the CPFL Group, part of State Grid — the largest energy company in the world — Instituto CPFL began its work in the community through the Esporte Social (Social Sports) project, which offers soccer classes to children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 during out-of-school hours. Since its launch, the project has not only tripled the number of participants — increasing from 60 to 180 — but also enhanced the existing structure by bringing in teachers, interns, and nutritional support, including snack kits, food baskets, and uniforms.
Antes da chegada do Esporte Social, o funcionário público e morador do bairro Fausto Caminoto Conegundes lutava para manter funcionando um projeto com capacidade para atender a 60 crianças e adolescentes. Embora contasse com o apoio da associação de moradores, não foram raras as vezes que ele precisou colocar recursos do próprio bolso para garantir que a bola continuasse rolando. “O projeto oferece a esses jovens uma alternativa positiva para ocupar seu tempo e sua mente, incentivando não apenas o crescimento esportivo, mas também o desenvolvimento pessoal e social. É bonito ver como o futebol pode formar cidadãos mais conscientes, ensinando a importância das regras, da convivência e do respeito às diferenças”, salienta.
Before the arrival of Esporte Social, public servant and local resident Fausto Caminoto Conegundes struggled to keep a community project running that served up to 60 children and adolescents. Although he had the support of the neighborhood association, there were many times when he had to use his own resources to keep the ball rolling. “The project offers these young people a positive alternative to occupy their time and minds, encouraging not only athletic growth but also personal and social development. It’s beautiful to see how soccer can shape more conscious citizens by teaching the importance of rules, coexistence, and respect for differences,” he emphasizes.
Agora, em 2025, o Instituto está ampliando seu alcance com a inserção de mais três projetos na comunidade. Em abril, a praça do bairro se transformou em um cinema ao ar livre com a chegada do CineSolar, o primeiro cinema itinerante movido a energia solar do Brasil. A atividade — promovida em parceria com as frentes Circuito CPFL e CPFL Intercâmbio Brasil-China — celebrou o Dia Mundial da Língua Chinesa e reuniu 420 pessoas para assistir gratuitamente a produções chinesas, em uma noite de muita pipoca, cultura e sustentabilidade.
Now, in 2025, the Institute is expanding its reach with the introduction of three more projects in the community. In April, the neighborhood square was transformed into an open-air cinema with the arrival of CineSolar, Brazil’s first solar-powered mobile cinema. The event — organized in partnership with the Circuito CPFL and CPFL Brazil-China Exchange initiatives — celebrated the United Nations Chinese Language Day and brought together 420 people for a free screening of Chinese films, in a night filled with popcorn, culture, and sustainability.
E as novidades não param por aí. A partir de agosto, duas novas ações irão enriquecer ainda mais o cotidiano das crianças e jovens da região. Com o apoio da frente CPFL Jovem Geração, o projeto Eclipse irá oferecer oficinas de dança, trazendo ritmos afro diaspóricos, cultura hip-hop e até C-pop (música pop chinesa), promovendo expressividade, identidade e inclusão. A iniciativa deverá atender cerca de 200 crianças e jovens da comunidade.
And the news doesn’t stop there. Starting in August, two new initiatives will further enrich the daily lives of children and young people in the region. With support from the CPFL Young Generation program, the Eclipse project will offer dance workshops featuring Afro-diasporic rhythms, hip-hop culture, and even C-pop (Chinese pop music), promoting self-expression, identity, and inclusion. The initiative is expected to reach around 200 children and young people from the community.
Outra iniciativa da frente CPFL Jovem Geração, a Carreta Literária, uma biblioteca itinerante, vai estacionar na Escola Estadual Parque Oziel. No formato de “book truck”, a carreta conta com um acervo de 600 livros, abrangendo diversos títulos infanto-juvenis. Normalmente, ela circula por escolas e praças públicas em cidades da área de cobertura da CPFL Energia. No entanto, para essa ação específica, ela ficará fixa na escola beneficiando cerca de 500 alunos do ensino fundamental e da Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA).
Another initiative from the CPFL Young Generation program, the Carreta Literária — a mobile library — will be stationed at Parque Oziel State School. In a “book truck” format, the trailer carries a collection of 600 books, featuring a wide range of children’s and young adult titles. While it usually travels through schools and public squares in cities within CPFL Energia’s service area, for this specific action, it will remain at the school, benefiting around 500 students from both elementary education and the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) program.
“Quando falamos de transformação, estamos falando de abrir janelas para o futuro. Em cada criança que se emociona com um filme ao ar livre, em cada adolescente que aprende uma nova coreografia ou pega um livro pela primeira vez, vemos o verdadeiro propósito do nosso trabalho”, afirma Daniela Ortolani Pagotto, head do Instituto CPFL.
“When we talk about transformation, we’re talking about opening windows to the future. In every child who is moved by an outdoor movie, in every teenager who learns a new dance routine or picks up a book for the first time, we see the true purpose of our work,” says Daniela Ortolani Pagotto, head of Instituto CPFL.

Um dos diferenciais da atuação do Instituto CPFL no Parque Oziel é a promoção de pontes culturais entre o Brasil e a China. Por meio da frente CPFL Intercâmbio Brasil-China, o Instituto transforma iniciativas locais em experiências globais de troca, aprendizado e aproximação entre os povos.
One of the distinguishing aspects of Instituto CPFL’s work in Parque Oziel is the promotion of cultural bridges between Brazil and China. Through the CPFL Brazil-China Exchange initiative, the Institute transforms local projects into global experiences of exchange, learning, and connection between peoples.
Essa conexão começou a se fortalecer com o projeto Esporte Social, que em outubro de 2024 ultrapassou fronteiras: técnicos brasileiros desembarcaram em Xi’an, na China, para aplicar a metodologia esportiva desenvolvida em comunidades brasileiras diretamente em escolas públicas chinesas. A ação internacionalizou o projeto e fez da cultura do futebol brasileiro uma ferramenta de inclusão e desenvolvimento.
This connection began to strengthen with the Esporte Social project, which in October 2024 crossed borders: Brazilian coaches traveled to Xi’an, China, to apply the sports methodology developed in Brazilian communities directly in Chinese public schools. This action internationalized the project and made Brazilian soccer culture a tool for inclusion and development.
“Levar nosso conhecimento esportivo à China é mais do que ensinar futebol — é trocar experiências, aprender com a disciplina e organização dos chineses, e construir juntos novos caminhos para crianças e jovens dos dois países”, explica Amarildo Arca, um dos treinadores do Esporte Social envolvido no intercâmbio.
“Bringing our sports knowledge to China is more than teaching soccer — it’s about exchanging experiences, learning from the discipline and organization of the Chinese, and building new paths together for children and young people in both countries,” explains Amarildo Arca, one of the Esporte Social coaches involved in the exchange.

A atividade reuniu mais de 400 pessoas em uma experiência única de cinema ao ar livre, cultura e sustentabilidade.

E as trocas culturais estão só começando. A partir de agosto de 2025, o projeto Carreta Literária trará não apenas livros, mas também o piloto de “Uma Jornada de Conexões – Escolas Irmãs”, que conectará estudantes do Parque Oziel a alunos da escola Xi’an Yanta District Gaoxin Road, na China. Crianças de 10 a 11 anos trocarão cartas, histórias e desenhos sobre o tema “Ideias para um mundo melhor”, com foco na COP 30. As correspondências serão traduzidas para português e mandarim e reunidas em um e-book bilíngue, com lançamento previsto para dezembro.
